Event Descriptions

Best of the West Ranch Rodeo

It does not get more real than this. They come from some of the Southwest’s most iconic ranches and compete not just to be named champion ranch team, but also for the titles of Top Hand and Top Horse. Ranch cowboys and cowgirls are the real deal and spectators connect with the FWSSR authenticity. The Best of the West Ranch Rodeo is among the most authentic of them all.

Best of Mexico Celebración

The pageantry of folklorico dancers, trick roping and escaramuzas combined with bareback bronc riding and bull riding rolled up in a beautifully choreographed production by famed Charro Jerry Diaz makes the Best of Mexico Celebración a must-see event.

Cowboys of Color

The Stock Show salutes the freedoms and rights granted to all citizens of the United States on Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the Cowboys of Color Rodeo. Bringing African American, Hispanic, Native American and Anglo rodeo athletes together to compete in traditional rodeo events and celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of the Western way of life is a strong source of FWSSR pride.

Bulls’ Night Out

The world’s best bull riders take their shot at some of rodeos’ toughest bulls. The lucrative Bulls’ Night Out payout gives winners an early season financial pop thus raising the stakes for the athletes and generating tremendous fan excitement in this action-packed competition.

PRORODEO Rookie Rally

Top PRCA and WPRA rookie athletes compete in eight exciting events. Each Rookie Rally event champion receives an automatic qualification in the 2026 FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament.

Mustang Magic Horses and Horseman of the World

An unforgettable performance that unites horses and equestrians from across the globe in a celebration of history, culture and heritage. Features world-renowned horsemen and horsewomen showcasing timeless traditions and dazzling displays that will captivate and inspire.

The journey to legendary stardom and a handsome payout in the 2026 FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament climaxes at the Championship Finals on Feb. 7.

Mustang Magic Top 10 Finals

The once wild mustangs are now trusted partners with the men and women who trained and compete with them. Competitors will be judged based on overall horsemanship and entertainment value.
